the frames are then rebuilt in a new form, just like their operator, ready to follow the Stalker's example. he then either forces the operator to join him on pain of death, or does *something* to brainwash them into thinking as he does. I wonder if perhaps the Acolytes' frames are those which were successfully defeated and Claimed by the Stalker (he throws down a severed Loki Head in the Second Dream intro where he meets Hunhow). every faction has it's defectors, even the grineer, and since we often discuss ourselves whether or not we're the "good guys" it only seems logical that some operators would begin to question their own allegiances as well. I'll admit this is mostly theory, but if you have to specify "low" guardian, then there must have been some upper echelon of tenno as well.Īlso a theory, but I believe that the Acolytes are essentially Tenno Turncoats and traitors. I think the Orokin would have kept their best Tenno, the "high guardians" close, only sending them on especial assignments that required their specific touch, and leaving Low Guardians to pick up the slack working with Dax and infantry. *while we might normally think of Dax as Orokin soldiers, bear in mind that they are all elite, well-trained units, not the kind of soldier you can crank out in the hundreds in an instant, which is what you need in a war: there still had to be some form of "cannon fodder" soldier for the Orokin, which would mostly likely have been in the form of either the Corrupted, or Grineer Slave-soldiers.Īs for "Guardians" I'm guessing that's what the Tenno were formally ranked as by The Orokin, as they were supposed to be their protectors, but some Tenno were likely more skilled than others and therefore may have been stationed in a better/more prestigious position, such as being the bodyguard of an Executor. if I had to guess, the hierarchy of the Orokin military units would be: soldiers* > Dax > Low Guardians > guardians/high guardians. It mentions in his codex he was a "Low Guardian", whatever that means. The corruption part could refer to the mutation Stalker's frame recieved, as well as supposed memory loss of who he was, as he began to question it when he eventually first met us in Reservoir on Lua. Not only could we learn more about him, but also some history of the Orokin empire and of us.Įdit: To further support my theory, at the end of War Within, Teshin states that Kuva, aside from being a source of immortality, is "a corrupting oil, a source of evil and madness". I don't believe he is an Umbra frame, but rather something along the lines of Rell/Harrow, who also permanently took over his frame.īut as we all know, nothing happened since Second Dream, he just poofed away, never to be heard from again.ĭE could expand on his story, and maybe finally give him his own unique look (Stalker/Shadow Stalker still use the body of Excal/Umbra respectively), which should match his helmet. I believe he did it so he could get revenge on the Tenno, for destroying the empire. Why? He was, in my eyes, extremely loyal to the Orokin. My theory is Stalker performed continuity with Red Kuva and took over a warframe permanently, the Kuva had some weird side-effect on the frame and made it into the Stalker we know. What awful things did Ballas do to Stalker?Īre the Acolytes all similar twisted experiments Ballas did with Warframe agency? Hunhow knew there was no chance of the Stalker finding its Operator on Lua.Ĭould the Stalker ever be reached and turned the way Umbra was? This also explains how Hunhow found the Stalker - Hunhow already knew that some frames were not just puppets from Ballas. He was expecting to find Ballas or some other Orokin mastermind on Lua, not some psychic kids as much in the dark about everything as he is. He hesitates in the fountain on Lua and again at the end of the Second Dream because he never realised that those trying to control him were kids. He's hunting the Tenno Warframes because he thinks they are things like him. Like Umbra he has some memory of who he was and that he is now some infested corpse created to be puppeteered by someone. Stalker is not a rogue Tenno, he's an Umbra. I played Second Dream a long time ago now, so didn't put this together, but watching some new streamers reach it for the first time I realised something. Spoilers below for The Sacrifice and Second Dream below.
